What is it?

GPS or Global Positioning System is technology used to pinpoint an object's exact location

Why bother with it?

GPS is included in some new mobile phones, and often comes as standard with blackberries. Councillors can use the combination of GPS and blackberries to pinpoint a location of an incident (maybe documented by a photo also taken using a blackberry) that can then be sent to the appropriate officer and can access/give directions at all times.
