North East Connects

A Local Vision for the Frontline Councillor

The third event in the Community Leadership and eDemocracy programme took place at Durham County Cricket Club on 14 March 2008.

Twenty-eight councillors and seventeen officers, representing fourteen North East local authorities attended.

The agenda featured four workshops designed to encourage interaction between delegates. The following scenarios were discussed in breakout sessions and delegates each took away their own record of discussion in their workbooks:

  • Scenario 1 - The Role of a Councillor
  • Scenario 2 - Issue Consultation
  • Scenario 3 - Case Management
  • Scenario 4 - Resolving a Community Issue
  • Scenario 5 - Being a Community Leader
